The Cranberry Wave is a group of individuals who enjoy swimming, working out and socializing together. The team is based at the Rose E. Schneider YMCA facility in Cranberry, PA and belongs to the Allegheny Mountain YMCA Masters Swimming Association. (AMYMSA)
The team is open to anyone 18 years and older who enjoys swimming and would like to compete in Masters Swim Meets, Open Water events, or just has an interest in joining a fun group to workout with. The group consists of swimmers at all levels and ages ranging from previous collegiate/high school swimmers to triathletes who are looking to improve the swim portion of their races.
Team members work out at various times during the day/week with a majority of the team swimming in the mornings. Workouts are created by the members of the team and are geared to the many different swimming levels within the group. You can find the work outs listed in the "Documents" menu at the top of the web page.
The Master’s Swimming season runs from September to April with approximately two swim meets each month. During the swimming "off season," many members of the group will train for and compete in open water swims. This is also the peak season for our many triathletes. We keep track of all the events people participate in so we can support them and share in their accomplishments. The team will order team suits, t-shirts and other swimming equipment on a periodic basis. You are welcome to order items through the team if you are interested, but team equipment is not “required” to participate! In addition to swimming, the team also organizes social outings for the group. These can range from the team Christmas Party or Summer Picnic to something as simple as a group going out to breakfast after a Saturday morning workout. Having fun is one of our team’s #1 priorities! Please feel free to look through the site to get to know us better. Our FAQ section should answer many of your questions. If not, feel free to contact the team at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with any questions you may have.
We hope to see you in the pool!
